I will NEVER do that again!!!
I have invested $10,000’s in coaching over the years. Business coaching, Life Coach, Golf Coach, Jiu-Jitsu Coach, Boxing Coach, Personal Trainer...I have invested a TON in myself.
I will continue to invest in myself. Even if I lost everything! I believe in that objective help and accountability. I know me.
What I WON’T do ever again, is FAIL to implement. Said differently, take what I have learned and sit on it. I won’t falsely believe that I am a smart guy, I can see/hear something one time and ‘get it’.
This was most evident for me when I was learning Jiu-Jitsu. I would seek out knowledge…everywhere. In addition to the classes every week, I would take private lessons.
I would be so excited to learn something new. I executed well when I learned it…’I am good to go’ I thought. WRONG!!
I needed reps. I needed feedback through trying. I needed to follow the guidance and make the techniques my own.
Others who started training after me blew past my skill level. They did the reps, the drills. They didn’t JUST want to spar, they wanted to do the work and make the techniques their own.
So, why is this important?
The secret sauce to change. To improvement. To results….is Execution. Doing and trying.
AN OKAY PLAN EXECUTED WELL, BEATS A GREAT PLAN EXECUTED OKAY… EVERY TIME.
Execution is a much longer discussion than this post. I will say this about execution:
A vital part of execution is accountability. I can count on one hand how many people I have met who don’t seem to need accountability. Very Few!
